A notification dated 22 12 2020 has been issued by the Finance Department to extend the period from 2016 to 2019, which was a holiday travel relief block, in lieu of the Gujarat government's decision to take a holiday travel relief scheme in the wake of the Koro epidemic. It is learned that due to the current lockdown as well as the Corona epidemic, the state government as well as the entire country is facing many problems and difficulties in terms of hospitals as well as transport so that holiday travel relief can benefit some state employees who benefit under the 2016 and 2019 blocks. The levy was automatically lengthened for one year which was nearing completion. The government was already considering providing relief to the employees who could not avail it. Special care should be taken to ensure that employees who have availed block holiday travel relief from 2016 to 2019 are not eligible to avail the benefit of this cash package.
Deposits will not be available under the Holiday Travel Relief Scheme
Any employee who wishes to avail the benefit of this scheme of Cash Relief Package of the Government is entitled to the amount of leave due to be converted into cash and henceforth the expenditure incurred is to be deducted from the amount eligible for receipt of holiday leave. The conversion will also take place as per the rule here
