The government's decision will benefit more than 50 lakh central government employees and more than 65 lakh pensioners. According to the All India Consumer Price Index data release, the DA is likely to increase by at least 4 per cent between January and June 2021.
Employee DA can increase from 17 percent to 28 percent
According to a business news website, the DA of central employees could increase from 17 per cent to 28 per cent once the DA is implemented. These include a 3% increase in DA from January to June 2020, a 4% increase from July to December 2020 and a 4% increase from January to June 2021.
Retired center employees will benefit
The DA was banned by the government due to the Corona virus epidemic. Increasing DA will also increase DR in its order. The central government has also implemented Dearness Relief (DR) for retired employees due to increase in inflation allowance.
