 Corona vaccine for children: India Biotech gets trial on humans aged 2 to 18

525 people will be involved in this clinical trial to be held at Delhi Aims, Patna Aims, Mims Hospital, Nagpur.

 India is currently facing another wave of Corona virus.  Vaccination work is also underway.  Experts suspect that children will also be affected if a third wave of corona occurs.  His research has taken a very important step.  The Subject Expert Committee on Corona Vaccine (SEC) on Tuesday recommended the trial of Bharat Biotech's covacin on children between the ages of 2 and 18, which has been approved.


 The clinical trial, to be held at Mims Hospital, Delhi Aims, Patna Aims, Nagpur, will involve 525 people.  As per the recommendation of the committee, Bharat Biotech has to make available the complete data of Phase 2 before starting the trial of Phase 3.


 The SEC recommended that Covexin of Bharat Biotech should be allowed for Phase 2, Phase 3 clinical trials involving children aged 2 to 18 years.


 The 2 vaccines currently being used in India are only for people over 18 years of age.  Citizens of India are being given CoveShield of Serum Institute and Covexin of Bharat Biotech.
