Counting of votes of total 8474 seats of District-Taluka Panchayat and NPA
Today the local self-government will come up against the grand result of the election. The counting of votes will begin at 9 a.m. today. In which 2720 seats of 81 municipalities, 980 seats of 31 district panchayats and 4774 seats of 231 taluka panchayats will be counted. 25 seats of district and 117 talukas while 95 seats of municipalities are uncontested. The fate of more than 22,200 candidates in the state's 8474 seats will be decided today. Parties including BJP, Congress, AAP, BSP and AIMIM are in the fray in this election. The counting of votes is taking place today amid tight police security.
According to the election rules of such native bodies, an area election officer has been appointed for punchayet elections, an area municipal election officer for municipal elections and a town election officer for municipal elections.
The State commission has authorized the Collectors for all activities with reference to Gram punchayet elections wherever limits and seats are assigned by the State Reserve Commission for varied reserved classes, voter list, election programs and different connected activities.
