 Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday launched the National Plan ‘Young, Upcoming and Versatile Authors’ (YUVA) to help young people use and encourage their writing skills.  Sharing a link to the scheme on Twitter, PM Modi said, "Here is an interesting opportunity for the youth to use their writing skills and contribute to India's intellectual discourse."

 Learn how the selection will be done

 - A total of 75 authors will be selected through an all-India competition on MyGov.

 - This selection will be made by a committee constituted by NBT.

 - The competition will run from June 4 to July 31, 2021.

 - Young writers participating under the mentorship scheme will have to submit a manuscript (in book form) in 5000 words for evaluation.

 - The names of selected young writers will be announced on 15th August 2021 Independence Day.

 - The author selected on the basis of mentorship will prepare the manuscript for the final selection under the guidance of nominated mentors.

 - The works of the winners will be ready for publication by 15th December 2021.
